My hair is a major part of my identity. It’s one of the first things they people notice when they see me.
My hair has turned into my crown. I take great pride in the way my hair looks. I make sure my hair is presentable before I walk outside to save myself the unwanted stares from others. It bothers me when I see other women being ridiculed and put down because of the different type of crown they wear.
It took me a while to get used to doing my hair, and what works best in my hair. In doing so it helped me gain confidence in myself. The way my hair looks tell a lot about myself and the mood I’m in, well most of the time anyways.
I try my hardest to compliment the women I see with natural hair, because I know how hard it can be to love yourself and your hair, especially when you have no idea what to do with it. Trust me, I don’t know how to do my with my hair myself, so I know how hard it can be.
But the most important thing, loving yourself and the crown you were given. Finding what works best in your hair, is a great factor is making your curls pop, to help you love your hair more.
Smile, keep your head up, and learn to love the skin you were given.
